Now in beta for Wasil schools

The primary school day, in one place.

Day is a learning platform made for primary schools. Children open one screen and see their lessons, practice and homework for today. Teachers build a lesson once and push it to any class.

Available to schools that use Wasil Hub.

Who it is for

One day, seen four ways

Everyone sees the same lessons and homework, shown in the way that suits them.

Everything for today, and nothing else

Children sign in and land on their day: the lesson happening now, what comes later, and what to do at home tonight. No menus to learn, nothing to search for.

  • Big, clear buttons, with a simpler layout for the youngest children
  • Read aloud on every screen, and bigger words when they need them
  • Practice cards that come back at the right time, in five boxes
  • Sign in on a shared iPad by holding up a QR badge

What it does

Everything a primary lesson needs

Lessons with everything inside

A lesson in Day holds what children need: slides to page through, a video, a quiz, a task for home and a voice note in your own words. Day makes its own safe copy of every file, so children never wander off to a live link.

Quizzes and practice that do the marking

Every question marks itself, from choosing an answer to typing, ordering and matching. Flashcards and questions go into five practice boxes, and come back until a child knows them. Children plan which days they will practise.

Present it, then push it

Show any lesson full screen on the class board, then push it so children can go back through it on their own device. Push to a class for a day and lesson from the timetable, and change it for that class without touching the library.

  • Sign-in made for small hands

Children on shared iPads hold up a printed QR badge. On Chromebooks they sign in with Google. Shared iPads sign out at the end of each session.

  • Your voice in the lesson

Record a short voice note for a lesson or a class. The words are written down too, so every child can follow along.

  • Homework in the same place

Set a lesson, a practice set or a task away from a screen. Children see it under At home tonight.

  • Help when they are stuck

Children from Year 2 can ask their teacher for help with a lesson or homework, and read the reply in Day. Only the child, their teacher and the safeguarding lead can see it.

Our promises

What Day will never do

Some things are settled from the start, and they hold in every version of Day.

  • No points, streaks or badges

Children learn because the work is worth doing. Recognition stays with you, in your classroom.

  • No score kept on any child

Teachers see who has finished and which questions were hard. Judgements about children stay with teachers.

  • No live links for children

Children only open Day's own copy of a file, and Day never stores a child's password for another website.

  • Built for every child

Made to the WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility standard, in plain British English, with large buttons on every child screen.

Wasil Suite

Works with the rest of your Wasil Suite

Day is part of the Wasil Suite and is available only through Wasil. It takes what your school already keeps in Wasil, so nothing is typed in twice.

Day
  • Wasil Hub

Sign-in for staff and children, classes, roles, timetables and term dates.

  • Wasil Active

A child's clubs and fixtures appear on their day, with the place and time.

  • Wasil Connect

Families see the homework set in Day, in the app they already use.

  • MeQ

The How I am feeling button opens MeQ. Day never sees what children share there.

Beta

Join the beta

Day is in beta with a small number of Wasil schools. We are adding schools a few at a time, so we can set each one up properly and listen to what teachers and children tell us.

  • Your school needs to use Wasil Hub
  • We will be in touch to talk it through before anything is switched on
  • There is nothing to install: Day runs in the browser on iPads, Chromebooks and laptops

We use these details only to contact you about the Day beta. We do not share them.
